September 24th, 2020- Today, the Steering Committee on behalf of the 895-member Global Veterans and Military Families Caucus, a component of Democrats Abroad, has endorsed Hillary O’Connor Mueri on the road to the 2020 election.

Statement from Hillary:

“Every American--including those who live overseas--deserve to have their voices heard in the government.  Expats and military families are faced with a host of issues that rarely cross the minds of citizens who live in the US, from hurdles to their ability to exercise their most basic Constitutional right of voting to discriminatory tax code provisions,” said Mueri. “I'm proud to have the endorsement of Democrats Abroad Veterans & Military Families Caucus; I have personally lived these issues and am committed to championing your voice in Washington.”

About Democrats Abroad Veterans & Military Families Caucus:

Democrats Abroad (DA) Veterans and Military Families Caucus is made up of DA members from around the world who are willing and able to advocate on issues important to the veterans and their families within the United States of America and those living abroad.

DA honors the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces; their service deserves our deepest gratitude and respect. Government policies must reflect the interests of those who are serving and those who have served, including their families. This caucus will work within DA to achieve this endeavor.

We recognize and appreciate that all of the various groups, ethnicities, persuasions, identities, and beliefs that make up American society are present in our military; we share issues and concerns in common with the other DA caucuses. Discrimination has no place in the military and its ancillary organizations, nor the Veterans and Military Families Caucus.

About Hillary:

Hillary O'Connor Mueri is an Ohio native, navy combat veteran, and a fierce fighter for the people of northeast Ohio. A Naval Flight Officer, Hillary was in one of the first generations of women flight officers trained from the ground up to fly in combat. She flew F-14s, F/A-18s, and F-16s for the U.S. Navy, including 12 combat missions in Tomcats over Iraq.

After her military service, Hillary earned her law degree and was hired by one of the nation’s biggest law firms. She focused her practice on aviation product liability litigation, determining how mishaps occur, and how to prevent them in the future. She also dedicated herself to pro bono work and sought justice for folks in need.

Hillary is running for Congress because she is a product of a struggling middle-class family in Painesville, Ohio, and it's time somebody put families like that first.  Ohioans deserve a representative who understands us, who can speak for us, and who will fight for us and our future.  Toro will never stop fighting for Ohio.
